Isi artikel
In addition to the formal-grammatical constructions, Minangkabaunese has “extra-grammatical” constructions. The meanings brought by such extra-grammatical constructions are more on stylistic rather than those of formal-grammatical ones. This paper, which is derived and further developed based on a part of the result of a research conducted in 2016-2017, discusses the phenomena of stylistic-grammatical constructions in Minangkabaunese. Two questions are respectively answered in this paper, namely: (i) what are the grammatical-semantic properties of stylistic-grammatical constructions in Minangkabaunese? ; (ii) what are types of meanings brought by the stylistic-grammatical constructions? The data were collected thorough a descriptive-qualitative research in the form of a field linguistic research and supported by a library study. The data are the form of syntactic constructions which are categorized into the stylistic-grammatical constructions. The data analysis is based on relevant theories of Semantics and Anthropological Linguistics. The result of data analysis reveals that: (i) there are four main stylistic-grammatical constructions in Minangkabaunese with particular grammatical and semantic characteristics; (ii) such stylistic-grammatical constructions relatively have different constructions compared with the formal ones; (iii) the meanings brought by the constructions are more on stylistic and socio-cultural ones; and (iv) they are productive and frequently used by native speakers in appropriate contexts of verbal communication.
