Schoology is a free and secure online learning environment used to provide a simple collaboration and learning tool for students to access class materials and information as well as offers the possibilities to customize learning for each student. The purpose of this research was to investigate the students' perspective on the use of Schoology and mobile learning at English Letters Department, Sanata Dharma University, in Yogyakarta. After implemented Schoology application as a mobile learning platform, a scale was applied on the research sample. This scale consisted of 36 statements was constructed to measure students' perspectives towards Schoology and mobile learning. The scale was distributed on 34 students during the third semester of the academic year 2015/2016. The result of the research suggested that majority of students held moderately positive perspectives towards the use of Schoology and mobile learning in their classroom since they think that learning using Schoology can facilitate and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of learning, and they appreciate Schoology because it saves more time. Despite of the students’ positive perspectives, the students were having problems with their mobile connectivity, and storing large files in their mobile phones, but they do not have any difficulty to enter the information on any screen size of mobile devices. Finally, the students thought that Schoology is a good tool to improve students’ learning opportunities through active participation and communication. They also want to actively participate in classroom and they want to develop a warm relationship with lecturers by means of this kind of mobile learning platform.
