Isi artikelThe use of background data, or biodata as it is typically known, has a ling history in the field of psychology and in selection. It has now been more than 100 years since it was firast suggested that individuals could be selected for jobs based in their responses to a number of questions referring to their past behaviour or experiences (owens, 1976). Since that time, biographical information has been used extensively as a tool in selection systems in the form of application blanks and more recently, in the form of multiple choice items whisch ask respondents to report on past experiences, behaviours, or feeling in specific situations.
