Situation semantics comes with the features of a paradigm shift in science. A new philosophical world-view is proposed, together with a drastic change in the agenda of the subject - and with the concomitant effect of misunderstanding the earlier tradition. In such circumstances, the not yet converted spectator experiences conflicting urges. Looking backward, historical justice demands an evaluation of the case between traditional 'possible worlds semantics', broadly conceived, and its modern rival. Looking forward, however, the constructive promise of the new -theory invites exploration, regardless of polemics and ideology. The latter urge has been predominant within the confined space for this reaction. The following comments are restricted to the topic of logic and inference within the framework of situation semantics. Reading Situations and Attitudes from the presumption of at least .some continuity of concerns, I have tried to isolate some themes that suggest interesting new research lines for logical semantics where the book itself seems devoted to setting up a formal apparatus, rather than developing a logical theory. In ascending order of speculation, these are the following five.
