With increasing competition and ever increasing customer demands for reduced PPM (Parts per million) defects, organizations are challenged to continuously improve their products / processes to stay in Business. Though Quality certification / awards help in identifying opportunities for improvements they are not the end in itself. Organizations though have people with core competencies they lack on their ability to use the right tools/techniques to improve the products / processes. Brakes India quality certification Journey started in 1992 and with various certificates/awards the product/processes improved the results of which can be seen in the form of improved customer satisfaction and reduction in PPM (Parts Per Million) defects. With Globalization, expectations of customers have gone to higher levels and to meet the same Brakes India started the six sigma Journey across the organization. The details of how the organization went about the Six Sigma initiative and won the coveted CII award for the best six sigma projects for the year 2009 and the benefits are described in detail.
