The uniform performance of Patch Antenna during manufacturing process is greatly benefited by optimization of the design using Transmission-line Model. An attempt is made to optimize the parameters of a patch antenna to enhance its performance using Taguchi method. The transmission-line model, chosen for mathematical modeling, is easily amenable for optimization. The antenna parameters that are considered for optimization are dimensions of the patch, dielectric constant and inset depth of the feed-line. These parameters are optimized such that the antenna performance becomes invariant to the noise factors. The paper presents the results of the optimization of the patch antenna in manufacturing process.
