A very selfish pursuit of material gains at almost any cost to Nature has got us where we find ourselves today. Undoubtedly Quality of our Thinking has got us into this situation & so unless Quality of our Thinking changes, Sustainable Inclusive Growth will not follow. Natural resources are not unlimited & so we must take very little from Nature, reduce waste & recycle maximum possible to bring sustained economic benefits. To solve the Environmental & Social problems we have created, we must join hand at all levels of society. Every enterprise has a fair mix of people in & around the enterprise, to which the apparent progress achieved so far is denied. Many of them living on the fringes of these enterprises don’t even have the minimum basic skills to earn their daily livelihood. A medium size enterprise like MGT has taken some initiatives, starting with the focus on the Quality of Thinking of its own members. In a newly designed Pocket Diary, members are encouraged to keep daily record of their efforts in terms of Self Discipline, which is an Organizational Value. The new definition was arrived thru a consensus in a General Meeting of all the 300 persons at MGT Ghaziabad in April 2010. It’s defined in terms of 4 parameters, i.e. To Do something to Change: 1. Myself; 2. My Family; 3. My Workplace; & 4. The Society around me. CMD Mr. Dhand has himself ledfrom the front by working with an NGO for creating employability amongst little or nil educated, unemployed village people nearby.
