Isi artikel
A thermal power plant has control systems for the boiler, turbine, and auxiliaries comprising of thousands of field devices, electronic cards and relays. Malfunction of any of these components can lead to partial /total outage of the units. A DMAIC approach was adopted to evolve required actions through a combination of brain storming and best practice techniques to achieve Zero Forced Outage due C&I by design. The identified action plan was implemented enhancing the reliability of the systems many fold. This paper discusses the methodology adopted and some of the measures that were identified and implemented in order to achieve the stated objective.
