This has to be done in a way that we get best blast fragmentation of ore/ OB blasted with minimum number of holes and minimum explosives used. Undesirable effect of this is boulder formation, blast misfires, fly rock formations, poor throw, etc. The paper describes use of Shainin Technique for deciding the optimum blasting parameters by doing in-field experiments.
