In view of higher marketing demand and supply constraints of a product, the Divisional Head decided a project using DMAIC breakthrough approach to meet the higher marketing requirement. A team under the leadership of Divisional Head was created. The process time was showing high variation on daily basis and the calculated cycle time for the process was almost half of actual average time. The team agreed to improve the output by 35 % over three months, with objective of improving throughput and reducing cycle time. After Implementation of Process Improvements by DMAIC techniques, the Division was able to meet the market requirements consistently without any deviations and has also developed capability to meet the future potential market demand. Output improved by 29 % in the first month and 28 % in the second month. The total time indicated reduction of 29 % and variation reduction of almost 50 %.
