Isi artikelRecent globalization results in shortening of lead time in new product introduction – leading to inevitable gap between what is foreseen and what is realised. Hence continually improving the product and process to bridge this gap and making them more robust after introduction is warranted right from the initial trial production stage. The survival of the product depends on how fast it could evolve out of the shortcomings. To effect this evolution right problem solving tools are needed. In this case study, one such incident of how a new product introduced, has evolved into a robust design through use of integrated problem solving tools is explained.
