To attain “all inclusive growth” – industries are expected to achieve more stringent targets with less experienced resources. When the experience level diminishes along with empirical knowledge – it should be complemented by the quick learning capability of the team - to resolve practical shop floor problems. This requires use of scientific tools having “right response and ease of use”. There is no single tool or technique available to achieve this – it requires integration of various tools complementing one another. In this case study how a sudden increase in shop floor rejections has been resolved is explained, which highlights the need for an integrated approach.
