Holistic medicine is a term used to describe therapies that attempt to treat the patient as a whole person. It looks at an individual's over-all physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being before recommending treatment. This modality is more or less perhaps becoming necessity! Holistic Therapies like naturopathy, homeopathy, nutritional therapies, Ayurveda, yoga, etc aim at the underlying source of the illness especially in chronic and lifestyle disorders and help alleviate the symptoms that often come with drug treatments and surgery. The spiritual Gurus from various parts of Asian continent have always been propagating and emphasizing the role of turopathy/yoga/aasans in effective treatment and management of prevalent diseases. Even these therapies rely heavily on diagnostics from allopathic system. Hence the term complementary or integrative medicine is more appropriate rather alternative treatment. Various quality tools like FISH BONE DIAGRAM may be used to analyze the various causes contributing to inability of a single system providing complete treatment and ANALYSIS of how integration of medical system resources at national level could make health care more affordable and accessible.
