In recent years, the education system particularly higher education system in India has changed and challenged a lot with reference to quality and quantity with the advent of LPG Policy and rapid and innovative changes in technology. It will grow more in future if India (Member Nation – WTO) agrees on General Agreement on Trade in Service (GATS - WTO), which includes education as tradable commodity. It creates a lot of competitions in service sectors including education sector. Hence, Quality and Creativity will be the option for survival in the era of globalization. In this paper, an attempt is made to summarize current scenario of India’s higher education system, a qualitative approach in higher education to achieve excellence with blend of remarks & suggestions.
