Defect from the shade difference of concrete roof tile was improved by using QC story with special quality tools. Reversed hypothesis test was applied to investigate the root causes and multiple regression with interaction and quadratic relationship were applied to find out the relationship between the shade of tile and contribution factors. Improvement solutions were developed by using variance reduction techniques such as reducing variation of Xs, taking advantage of interaction and taking advantage of quadratic relationship. The result showed that the defect rate was reduced from 40% to 10%.
