Budget and Budgetary control is vital to the successful functioning of the local government administration. The measure of economic advancement in the local government administration should be through proper budget and budgetary control. The researchers’ efforts will be aimed at finding out what factors militate against the attainment of economic advancement in Zango Kafaf LGA of Kaduna State. In order to conduct this research, the researcher used both primary and secondary source of data collection. Simple descriptive statistical tools such as frequency distribution table, simple percentages and analysis of differences between budget estimates and actual were used to analyze the data and discuss the findings, moreover, the chi-square (????2) was used for the test of hypothesis. The research revealed that proper supervision and monitoring necessitate the attainment of the local government objectives. Based on the research findings, the researcher was able to proffer among other recommendations that there is need to revise budget and budgetary control practices in Zango Kafaf local Government. That qualified personnel who are conversant with budget techniques should be recruited and appointed to prepare and monitor budget implementations.
