The quality of the teacher-made test is questionable. The test that is made by the teacher is commonly not to be tried out and analyzed before it is delivered to the students. This problem makes the existence of the good English test items should be revised and rechecked. However, research reports that test is a part of assessment in determining students’ achievement. To acknowledge whether the test has accomplished the standards of a good test, the teacher should evaluate the quality of the test item. This study aims to analyze the summative English test items in the tenth grade students in one of the school in Jambi province. The researcher used quantitative method with descriptive approach. A document analysis was utilized in this research. The results revealed that not all English test items for the second semester had met the criteria of good test item based on the level of difficulty, discrimination power and the effectiveness of distractor. The implication of this research for teaching and learning will guide the teachers to design the good quality of the English test items.
