The power of assessment will have impact on students’ motivation and behavior in the learning process. Knowing students’ perspective is precisely useful to build a huge understanding about them. This research aims to portray students’ perceptions towards English assessment. The participants are thirty 10th grade students of a private high school in Bandung. The students express their perceptions of assessment through drawings (draw-a-picture technique), which means that there will be a visual analysis. Draw-a-picture technique involves students drawing pictures to illustrate aspects of their school assessment experience. The data are discussed qualitatively and descriptively. The finding reveals that assessment could bring up certain feelings which comprise affective response (positive, negative), formative aspects (test results, test procedures, and test limitations), and summative potentials (teachers’ support, peerfeedback, students’ follow-up) from each student. This paper plays a role in understanding how assessment is viewed differently, and is having impacts on students’ progress. In a word, if students’ perspectives toward assessment are taken into account, a significant improvement of language testing and evaluation in every language skill will be earned. Teachers and educational institution are expected to be more aware of the emotional, social, and intellectual impacts which might happen to students after classroom assessment.
