The errors collected were identified and classified using Surface Strategy Taxonomy to explain the ways surface structures are altered. The findings presented the types of omission, addition, misformation, and misordering errors, their detailed description, and the frequency of occurrence of each error type. This study hopefully gives a new perspective in the usage of machine translation and the students’ ability in correcting the MT output to convey the intended meaning to the readers.
