Now more than 20 years, the dictatorship in Romania didn`t allowed to leave the country, emigration may bring the end. Romanians who were caught at the border were killed or sent to prison, and the Revolution meant primarily the freedom to travel. Nowadays, socio-economic instability in Romania has led many people to go work abroad to be able to support their family. There are less desirable aspects such as family disorganization and "abandoned" children to grandparents or other relatives with serious psychological consequences for them, installed in time. In most cases, at first leaves only one parent, and after a period is followed by the other, considering that they can easily provide the necessary living, in order to return as soon as possible at home, but the period of absence is extended. Children left home living with the hope that parents will be back soon and suffering caused by their physical lack will stop. Abandonment has negative effects of physical and mental development, but also psychosocial aspects involved multiple psychiatric resonances. The separation of children from their parents who go to work abroad generates the living of abandonment feeling with repercussions on the child's personality and there is the risk of intellectual disability or emotional and behavioral disturbances. The absence of parents leads to problems at school because the child is no longer focused, becomes anxious and leaves school. Children with parents working abroad have the feeling of loss the stability of the family environment and also they fear about the loss of attachment and parental love. Some will feel overwhelmed by sadness or anxiety, while others will feel fear and guilt. Separation of parents generates disorders in the behavioral and affective field. Psychosocial effects of the temporary "abandonment" on children because the economic migration of their parents are: ? damage to school behavior; ? feelings of abandonment and insecurity; ? sadness; ? anxiety; ? depressive moods; ? indifferent attitude, stubbornness; ? attention disorders; ? disorders of self-esteem; ? adjustment difficulties; ? delinquent behaviors; ? suicidal behavior. In Romania there are 100,024 children who have parents working abroad: ? 31.389 children have both parents working abroad; ? 57.759 have only one parent abroad; ? 10.876 children have the only parent is left to work abroad. The statistics show that: ? 631 children were left in foster care; ? 1.982 children were left by parents to relatives; ? 241 to other families or individuals; ? without any social protection are 1.413 children, who remained to neighbors or families without protective measures. These data rely on the National Authority for Child Protection are not accurate, because the actual number of children left alone is much higher, given that a large part of the romanian leave illegally from country.
