Isi artikelThere is a considerable progress in the development of electronic portfolio (e-Portfolio) via Facebook (FB) in several universities in America, Europe, and some parts of Asia. As one form of innovation, this initiative is both a reflective medium for learning and a tool for improving assessment of that learning. In this study, the level of impact of e-portfolio via Facebook on the students from the students’ perspective and teacher’s perspective was determined as well as the significant difference between the scores assigned by the teacher and by the students using a self-report method. The participants were from the De La Salle University (DLSU): 184 students enrolled in English Communication (ENGLCOM) course of the current term, and seven ENGLCOM teachers. Data were collected through a retrospective self-report questionnaire. Descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (t-test) statistics were used for data analysis. Results showed there was a high level of impact of e- Portfolio via FB on students based on the perspectives of teachers and students, and that the scores assigned by the students and teachers were not significantly different. These findings support and add to various benefits of this innovation to assessment practices, and can contribute to the thrusts of DLSU in finding ways to work on this initiative in order to deploy this learning technology across a large and varied student and faculty population.
