Isi artikelAristotle was one of the students, and the most prominent, under the Academy (??ad?µ?a, “Akademia”) of Plato in Athens. Aristotle, then, became a tutor to Alexander the Great, before returning to Athens to formally establish his own philosophical school in 335 BC, The Lyceum (???e???, “Lykeion”). As Evans accounted, “Aristotle had an incredibly broad and curious mind, and wrote definitive works on physics, biology, ethics and psychology, politics, rhetoric and literary criticism” (2013, para 1). Renowned among his works and endeavors, was his pursuit of the human flourishing (e da?µ???a, “Eu dai monía”), often times translated as happiness, which is achieved through the attainment of excellence or virtue (??et?, “Arete”).
