Photography has always been a useful tool in dermatology, but the now ubiquitous smartphone with built-in high-quality camera has made photography more accessible than ever. Digital photographs of patients may be used for clinical follow-up, consultation, and education.1-3 Issues of consent and storage have been considered,2,3 and security concerns remain. We surveyed current photography and storage practices of resident, academic, and private dermatologists.
