Isi artikelThis present study aims to find out the difference of writing performance between Collaborative Writing class and Process Writing class and the interaction effect between Collaborative Writing class and Process Writing class and grammar mastery to writing performance. Using comparative experiment level by design 2x2, the instruments used in this research were writing test and grammar test. Respondents were 59 college-students taken from Writing 1 Class in English Education Major. Helped by SPSS ver.18, statistical results (ANAVA and Tukey Test) showed that there was difference between Collaborative Writing and Writing Process to Writing performance (0.040 < 0.05) and there was interaction effect between Collaborative Writing and Process Writing and grammar mastery to writing performance (AxB ? 0, 0.003 < 0.05). Collaborative writing class differs significantly from Process Writing class (0.004 < 0.05) in which mean score of Collaborative Writing with high-grammar scores get higher than mean score of Process Writing class. On the other hand, on low-grammar scores, there was no significant difference between Collaborative Writing class and Process Writing class (0.878 > 0.05). It can be drawn conclusion that Collaborative Writing is much more effective than Process Writing in writing performance in high-grammar scores; meanwhile, on low-grammar scores, writing performance in Collaborative Writing class is same as writing performance in Writing Process Class.
