The present research conducted to investigate the effect of awareness raising activities on reading comprehension of the fourth semester EFL students and the interaction between awareness raising activities and students’ motivation. To carry out the research, quasi-factorial design was used. The subjects of the study were the fourth semester students of UIN Malik Ibrahim Malang, in academic year 2013-2014. In analyzing the data collected, the research employed t-test and ANOVA. It was because the statistical assumption was fulfilled, including the normality and homogeneity assumption. In this study, the purpose of employing ANOVA was to investigate the interaction between students’ reading achievement with different motivation. The result of t-test showed that there is difference in students’ reading comprehension achievement between students who are taught using awareness raising activities and those who are taught using conventional strategy. Further, the result of ANOVA test shows that there is no interaction between students’ comprehension score with different motivation.
