Isi artikelFor an inventory model with fixed lifetime commodities, setting an ideal inventory level and ordering quantity has always been complex. The inventory system requires a balance among customer waiting time, ordering and expiry costs to minimize the total cost of the system. In this problem, the delivery mechanism from the vendor is capacitated. For example, fast-food restaurants require a certain inventory level for their make- to-stock products which have a maximum time for keeping in the inventory. The cooking equipment limits the number of ordered products it can make at a given time. Related literature have dealt extensively about problems very similar to this but little, if at all, have discussed about the problem of the capacitated vendor. This paper tackles that specific problem characteristic and proposes developing a simulation optimization model for the re-order point and order quantity of the ordering system given the delivery constraint.
