Isi artikelIn Japan, there are many impaired students in universities. They are supported on studying in class by volunteer circles or voluntary persons. A note taking, which is a practice of recording information captured from speaker’s voices, is one of the supporting measures for the students and is usually adopted in many schools. Styles of classes in school vary across disciplines and from individual to individual, for examples, a chalk talk, a group seminar style and a practical training. The note taking can support them in the chalk talk of classes, but hardly in the other types of classes because of voices by more than one student. Therefore we construct a support system which the students can actively take part in a discussion with. The students recognize what a speaker says by looking at the speaker’s mouth. Now imagine that students including a hearing impaired student are sitting in a ring for discussion. A camera is set at the center of circle, which provides spherical 360 degree panoramic video. The system connecting to the camera detects a speaker by the image processing, gives pictures of the members’ mouths and makes the student notice the speaker. Then the student can recognize what the speaker says by watching the mouth in the video.
