Hotelling’s 2T control chart is well known as a primary one of multivariate statistical process control tools. In a 2 T control chart, the observed data are integrated into a single statistic, and then the process condition is decided by comparing 2 T statistic with a control limit. On the other hand, a search for assignable causes often requires the interpretation of out-of-control condition. Some methods of decomposing 2 T statistic have been proposed in order to interpret the out-of-control condition in the previous works. In this study, we propose some methods of using AIC with respect to the interpretation of out-of-control condition.
