Isi artikelThese study is an inquiry on the employability skills (entry and promotional) of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering graduates as required by the industries in northern Cebu. Research papers were divided into 2 parts namely; entry and promotional skills with the personality traits. The HR manager or immediate superiors assessed the hired IE’s. Only 12 out of 20 respondents or 60% agreed to answer the questionnaire. Results of the study revealed: Entry qualifications for managerial position - work experience, personality traits and academic performance; supervisory level - work experience, competitive exam, and academic record; facilitative staff - academic records, competitive exam, and personality; and for the technical level - work experience, competitive exam and academic record. The employability skills needed for promotion were ranked as follows in the different position levels: managerial level – performance rating, personality, and post graduate study; supervisory level and facilitative levels – performance rating, technical knowledge, and personality trait; technical level – technical knowledge, performance rating, and work experience. The top ten personal qualities which were the reasons for IE promotion were ranked as follows; leadership, loyalty, teamwork, tolerance to stress, critical thinking, good decision making, initiative, customer relations, honesty and integrity, and commitment.
