It has been more than five years since monetary crisis hit Indonesia’s economy, but until now, Indonesian business activities still seem paralyzed. This is especially true, for the big scale entrepnses within the formal economic sector. This business paralysis, however, no longer applies to small scale business group belonging to informal economic sector. It has been proven which has the base of “the people economy” could stand against external economic shock. Besides its strength, however by nature, the group also possesses weaknesses. Because of its nature, it is almost impossible for the group to grow and develop on its own strength. This article describe the main weakness of the group and discuss how to overcome it.
