Possibility of using energy saving lamp for lighting at the building area in faculty of engineering, Atmajaya University was studied by comparing traditionally used TL-D 36W/54-765 1SL lamp and T8 MCOB-LED 10 W, LVD 100W, LVD 200W lamp. In the selected area 4m x 4m, eight TL-D 36W/54-765 1SL and T8 MCOB-LED 10 W, one LVD 100w and LVD 200W was used It was found that TL-D 36W/54-765 1SL gives the lowest illumination level among them but consume highest lighting power density and cost. The lighting power density of TL-D 36W/54-765 1SL was 50 % higher than recommended by SNI 03-6127-2000. T8 MCOBLED 10 W and LVD 100W were giving almost the same illumination level, lighting power density and saving cost. In the area of laboratory, with the assumption that the activities equal with criteria for industrial simple assembly (300 Lux), T8 MCOB-LED 10 W and LVD 100W can be used, but if we refer to SNI 03-6197-200 (500 Lux), LVD 200W must be used. In secretariat, T8 MCOB-LED 10 W and LVD 100W can be used and for classroom T8 MCOB-LED 10 W can be used for replacing TL-D 36W/54-765 1SL. Saving cost each year for T8 MCOB-LED 10 W, LVD 100 W and LVD 200 W with electrical energy cost Rp 755/kWh are Rp 699.940, Rp 672.703 and Rp 451.392 respectively. Both T8 MCOB-LED 10 W and LVD 100W comply with ECC 1.3.2 Greenship Existing Building V.1.
