The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of a cross-cultural experience on the development of student attitudes and to identifv the instrument scales which reflect shift in the Semantic Differential. Sixteen participants were involved in this study utilizing a one group, pretest-posttest design. The statistical treatment for the data was the Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs Signed Ranks Test and the t-tests for related samples. The treatment consisted of a five- week field experience emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach to observing and studying Mexico.
