Suggestopaedia is the application of the principles of suggestology (the science of suggestion) to teaching. It was through practicing psychotherapy for fifteen to twenty years that Georgi Lozanov became interested in teaching. He came to the conclusion that suggestive factors help achieve good results in psychotherapy and that similar suggestive factors also influence pedagogy. One of the best examples of the pedagogical application of suggestopaedia is found in the field of language teaching. The article briefly describes the main principles of the system as well as their practical application.
