Indonesia is a country of cultural diversity. To avoid from its distinction, the cultures need preserving. One of the methods is by introducing them to the global world. However, when some components of cultures do not have one to one equivalent to other languages especially to English, strategies of translation are required. The research entitled “Untranslatability of Sundanese Foods in Sukabumi into English” aims at preserving local cultures. The research methodology applied in the research is descriptive qualitative and the sources of data are objects in the form of documents related to Sundanese Foods in Sukabumi which are untranslated into English.The final result of the research is a product. It is encyclopaedia of Sundanese Foods in English. Besides, the research is also expected to be a reference for some schools in English subject related to sundanese foods especially in West Java.
