EXCLUSIVE is a learning model developed based on Students Centred Learning (SCL) approach and metacognitive learning strategy. EXCLUSIVE is the abbreviation of Exploring, Clustering, Simulating, Valuing, and Evaluating as the main stages of the learning process. This learning model was intended to improve the students’ speaking skill, students’ participation during the teaching learning process, as well as teacher’s teaching performance. With a classroom action research design, the results show that the gain of students speaking performance in cycle 1 and cycle 2 was 5, 13, while in cycle 2 and 3 was 6, 2. Student’s participation also indicated some improvements within cycles and furthermore, this could help teachers improve their teaching performance. As a new learning model, EXCLUSIVE learning model can be as an alternative in developing students’ proficiency in learning English, and learning other subjects as well.
