Having productivity is certainly a desire for all of industries, especially for automotive component industries. However, some issues often interfere in gaining productivity. One of the issues is musculoskeletal disorders. The musculoskeletal disorders are experienced because there is no fitness between a workplace and operators. It is discovered when analyzing musculoskeletal discomforts, current postures, and current lighting systems. In examining musculoskeletal discomforts, musculoskeletal discomforts are identified by applying Nordic Body Map Questionnaire. In reviewing current postures, Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) is employed. In studying current lighting systems, current lighting systems are compared with theoretical lighting systems. One alternative solution is made by evaluating the musculoskeletal discomforts, current postures, and current lighting systems. The solution is to design the workplace which is suitable for all of operators by utilizing anthropometry and ergonomics principle. A new workplace design is expected to maximize fitness between a workplace and operators.
