Isi artikel
Mitomycin ( MMC) is a cytotoxic drug. It is a treatment given to patient after Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumour surgery. This drug is administered into the patient’s bladder on the first post-operative day. The drug will be left to dwell in the bladder for 2 hours. 80% of these patients will experience bladder irritation, causing MMC to leak via urethra. The linen will be contaminated with the cytotoxic drug and needs to be discarded and changed as a result. The team tested the use of incontinence pads. The incontinence pads did not contain leakage efficiently. An additional cost for purchasing extra net pants is needed if it is contaminated with MMC. We gained inspiration from diapers used for babies (serendipity technique), the team trialed the use of diapers to contain any MMC leakage
