Isi artikelIn Japan, there is great social demand to improve the quality of medical care. To that end, hospitals must tackle the problem of reducing medication incidents. However, the number of medication incidents is not being decreased through calling for attention. Beyond this, the improvement of the business process is effective in decreasing medication incidents. To enable nurses in this regard, we must establish a new method to identify process factors. This study proposes a method to identify process factors with POAM (Process Oriented Analysis Method for Medication Incidents). This study consists of two parts. The first part involves drawing model diagrams that express the incident situation. Concretely speaking, we considered a method to choose target works for analysis and a method to describe model diagrams. The other part is to identify error factors that are classified medication incident process factors as. Finally, we proposed a method to identify error factors considered these two parts. The proposed method enables nurses who are new to analysis to easily identify medication incident process factors. However, there are also some opinions that it is difficult for nurses to utilize the method correctly. We must refine the method to make it feasible in the future
