Quasi-engagement of electrical connector is the state that mating of terminals is complete, but mating of housing is incomplete. It may cause a serious malfunctioning of automobiles by separation. It is very difficult to detect the state in process because the electrical function works properly. The main cause of the quasi-engagement is lack of feeling of mating, which is qualitative variable. In this paper, we proposed a new evaluation system for automotive connectors using reliability structure, in which feeling of mating is mainly considered. The experiment results show that our proposed system can be an appropriate evaluation system, while the existing system is not. We assure the proposed evaluation system can contribute to improve the connector itself at the design stage and to setup inspection criterions for quality management
