Isi artikelThe new millennium has brought about a number of important changes in the most ancient activity of human beings, namely the activity of exchanges – the trading of valuables – nowadays called business activities. First, there is an emerging trend in the shift of proportion on the act of buying from traditional, physical outlets towards online purchases. Second, with the maturity of technology represented by the popularity of smart phones as trading platform and the concept of global village, the new form of marketplace online is now solidly gaining its share as the major channel of retail business. Third, companies have to be pragmatic in maintaining their current competence, as well as developing new competence and hook these up with performance and profitability in order to achieve long term development and sustainable profitability. As a result, e-commerce in retail as an emerging trend is now the blue ocean of established business enterprises as well as the biggest opportunities in new business ventures. This paper outlines key elements of developing service quality of C2C (consumer-to-consumer) retail business, shares practical experiences and offers alternatives for success
