Company Financial Analysis is very important for company management, investors, creditors, government and also labor union, The measurement that often used in financial analysis is ratio. In matter of financial problem and company bankruptcy, Altman has done a study to determine financial ratio which can be used to predict bankruptcy. Altman model is called Z score. The purpose of this research is to analyse the growth of public owned farm industry and animal food in Indonesia (1996 - 2000) with Altman model application. The companies which use that model are PT. Anwar Sierad (ANSI), PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesai (CPIN), PT. Dharmala Agrifood (TPFC), PT. Cipendawa Farm Enterprises (CPDW) and PT. Japfa Comfeed indonesia (JPFA). They are estimated holding 70% market share in local market. The result of this research shows : 1) there are different capabilities in Z score as well as in financial ratios of the farm industry and animal food in 1996 - 2000, and 2) horizontal and vertical analyses through farm industry and animal food show the significant symptom in 1996 - 2000.
