Isi artikelThe paper presents the results of corpus-based research into linguistic interference in translations from L1 Czech into L2 English. Using the interlanguage model, the analysis focuses on three key factors in interference: poor reference materials, translators’ generalisations of false hypotheses, and systemic-structural differences between the Czech and English languages. The examples analysed cover interference in lexis, word-formation, grammar and syntax.
