Students are teenagers that growing to be adolescence and are hoped to be success in implementing their roles as they grow-up, success in career orientation, and success in their social life in the society. In achieving those successes, some of them face no problem, while the others encounter problem and difficulties and even some of them do not understand what they should do. The students successes in studying are influenced by their attitude and understandings of the problems they have. This research was aimed to describe what are the attitude and understandings of the students of the state senior high schools in Magelang municipality on the problems they have. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. The population is the students of state senior high schools in Magelang municipality and the sample was taken by using cluster random sampling. The data was taken by using alat ungkap masalah umum format 2 (AUM U-2), meanwhile the data on the students attitude and understanding of the problems is taken by using semantic differential questionnaire. All data were processed and analyzed by using percentage formula. The research result shows that the most frequent problems faced by the students are in the lesson and the education. Their understandings are in average category meanwhile their attitude is in low category. In addition, based on the schools accreditation, the students from the school with A accreditation have more problems but their attitude and understandings are low. In further, based on the class level, the tenth grade students (grade X) face less problems but their attitude and understanding are low. In contrary, the eleventh grade students (grade XI) face more problems but their attitude and understanding are average.
