Isi artikelToday, marriage relationships face a greater major challenge than before. Statistics of marital conflict, divorce, sexual abuse, and violence, especially in spouse and family, have increased in every demographic category. Unfortunately, in Indonesia, there is no established pre-marital program for preparing spouse to come up against the risk and challenge before the marriage. Many pre-marital programs in Indonesia just prepare spouses about the knowledge to deal with marriage processes, and it does not prepare their personality, attitude, and behavior. The aim of this article is pre-marital counseling, as one of the solution to prepare spouse who are going to marry. The process of pre-marital counseling will be based on personality assessment. Through the counseling, the spouses will be guided to have a better understanding about them and their partners and are able to accept their partners in, the further process, they will be guided to deal with marital stressors, horizontal stressor and vertical stressors. Pre-marital counseling can be done both group and individually.
