Some of their reasons for protest were economic, some were political, some verged on the recreational: what cheaper or better entertainment, during a pleasant cool spell in Egypt's mostly sizzling midsummer, than to take to the streets for some joyous, full-throated bellowing of insults? Perhaps the most widely felt problem, though, was that the blood of Mr Morsi, a burly, grizzled former professor of engineering, and of the Muslim Brotherhood of which he was a member, was insufferably heavy.
