Learning to lead is an investment in the future of leaders and their organization. Leaders develop psychological maturity as they work with diverse people under the demands and pressures of today's organization. This paper presents the leadership theories, which are classified into trait theory, behaviour theory and situational theory. Successful leadership is a combination of the theories, taking the followers' characteristics and situation demands into account. Effective leaders must be able to balance all organizations behaviour skills to accomplish the goal and thus establish the culture of organization.
