Isi artikelIndonesia as one of the member of the World Trade Organization and the Asia Free Trade Area has a challenge to produce industrial products more efficiently and productively, in order to compete with similar products produced by other countries. This paper demonstrates that Statistical Process Control (SPC) may be used to detect, control or even prevent disqualified products earlier in their production phase. In addition to SPC, when statistical techniques are used, the Cpk ratio may be calculated to for see whether the process of manufacturing is functioning and whether the desired spesifications are met. But above all, top management of the industrial manufacturers and the corresponding work team (consisting of the supervising engineers, machine operators and managers) should be commited to tightly follow the procedures as set up to be executed, i.e the developed process log, reaction plan, statistical control charts especially the reaction plan.
