Abstract
Career success is the primary goal of every working individual, including persons with disabilities. This study aims to provide an overview of the criteria for career success, particularly among employees with physical and sensory disabilities. A survey approach was employed, combining closed-ended and open-ended questions. Clarification of respondents’ answers was conducted to ensure a clear understanding. Data were collected using a questionnaire developed by the researcher and distributed via Google Forms to individuals with disabilities. The findings revealed that people with disabilities have different criteria for career success compared to individuals without disabilities. These criteria include: the willingness to strive diligently despite limitations, working hard, being disciplined, and taking responsibility for entrusted tasks, optimizing one’s potential amid limitations, and receiving non-discriminatory and equal treatment in the workplace. Furthermore, people with disabilities consider the opportunity for promotion or advancement to higher positions an important aspect of career success. These findings highlight the need for inclusive and equitable approaches in designing career development policies for individuals with physical and sensory disabilities.
