This study examines several stressors that may be related to the presence of depression symptoms in one hundred students, they were enrolled in major universities in the Washington Metropolitan Arca during the spring semester of 1994. Potential stressors under investigation include perceiver english language proficiency, academic competency, financial condition and social contacts. A number of demographic variables were also explored. The students completed a questionnaire, which measured potential stressors, and the carroll rating scale for depression, which examined the presence of depression.
