It has been generally believed that only women suffer cultural opression. More critical analysis of gender, however would lead to the conclusion that men, too, need cultural emancipation. In most cultures men have been taught to be tough and rough, protective, have no fear of danger, and always ready to sacrifice their lives for others. They are also socialized to concela (not to acknowledge) their feelings and to be all rational. This short essay would address how the cultural context of men's development effect their relationship with others, especially with women.
